The university town in the south of Lower Saxony offers its visitors plenty of attractions in terms of culture, entertainment and recreation.

On the stages of the "Deutsches Theater" and the "Junges Theater" several plays are listed almost every night. In addition, the student theater is highly recommended!

The only 200 meters from the hostel located "Lokhalle" is considered the best event venue in Europe (at least, according to the European Association of Event Centers EVVC). Here, artists like Udo Jürgens and Die Toten Hosen practically pass the microphone to each other, and first division basketball team BG74 Gottingen plays to capacity crowds.

Numerous pleasant bars and restaurants in the city provide something for every taste.

With four movie theatres, Gottingen offers excellent entertainment for cineasts. The largest cinema in the city (Cinemaxx) is only a 2 minute walk from the hostel. But also the small movie theatres Cinema, Lumiere and theSterntheater are definitely worth a visit.

The Old Botanic Garden of the University of Göttingen is a place for botanical research and more since 1736. The 5-acre green oasis is popular as the most beautiful park in the downtown area. Here the visitor can stroll in the shade of old trees and between flower beds, or indulge the beauty of tropical vegetation in the historical greenhouses.
Other beautiful parks can be found around the "Kiessee" and within the "Schillerwiesen".

Friends of the cool waters get their money's worth with three outdoor pools and the "Water Paradise Eiswiese"
